My ‘Time to Stop Meddling’ piece in the last newsletter stirred an enormous reaction.

While some of you, correctly, pointed out that I hadn’t mentioned the role of lenders, most agreed with the central point: it is Government interference in the housing market, rather than landlords or estate agents, that is responsible for today’s crisis.

The view that the Government is – wrongly – trying to control free market economics, was expressed over and over again.
